COL4A1 with Cerebral Small Vessel Disease and Multiple Anomalous cerebral vascular origins: A case report

نویسندگان

چکیده

Cerebral small vessel disease (cSVD) is a main cause of stroke, cognitive impairment, and vascular dementia. COL4A1 mutations have been identified as hereditary cerebral disease. mutation associated with nephropathy, aneurysms, muscle cramps, which we call the HANAC syndrome. Mutations in recently both mouse model families, characterized by cystic brain cavities white-matter lesions. But it has not reported malformations. We here first report case multiple anomalous origins.

Novel COL4A1 mutations cause cerebral small vessel disease by haploinsufficiency.

Mutations in COL4A1 have been identified in families with hereditary small vessel disease of the brain presumably due to a dominant-negative mechanism. Here, we report on two novel mutations in COL4A1 in two families with porencephaly, intracerebral hemorrhage and severe white matter disease caused by haploinsufficiency. Two families with various clinical presentations of cerebral microangiopat...

Vascular inflammation in cerebral small vessel disease

Cerebral small vessel disease (CSVD) is considered to be caused by an increased permeability of the blood-brain barrier and results in enlargement of Virchow Robin spaces (VRs), white matter lesions, brain microbleeds, and lacunar infarcts. The increased permeability of the blood-brain barrier may relate to endothelial cell activation and activated monocytes/macrophages. Therefore, we hypothesi...

Common variation in COL4A1/COL4A2 is associated with sporadic cerebral small vessel disease.

OBJECTIVES We hypothesized that common variants in the collagen genes COL4A1/COL4A2 are associated with sporadic forms of cerebral small vessel disease. METHODS We conducted meta-analyses of existing genotype data among individuals of European ancestry to determine associations of 1,070 common single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) in the COL4A1/COL4A2 genomic region with the following: intra...

Plasma lipids and cerebral small vessel disease.

OBJECTIVES We examined the cross-sectional association between lipid fractions and 2 MRI markers of cerebral small vessel disease, white matter hyperintensity volume (WMHV) and lacunes, representing powerful predictors of stroke and dementia. METHODS The study sample comprised 2,608 participants from the 3C-Dijon Study (n = 1,842) and the Epidemiology of Vascular Aging Study (EVA) (n = 766), ...

Arterial Stiffness and Cerebral Small Vessel Disease

Background and Purpose—Aging and vascular risk factors contribute to arterial stiffening. Increased arterial stiffness exposes the small vessels in the brain to abnormal flow pulsations and, as such, may contribute to the pathogenesis of cerebral small vessel disease. In a population-based study, we investigated the association between arterial stiffness, as measured by aortic pulse wave veloci...
